Valve announcing Counter-Strike 2 is possibly the biggest news in the gaming scene right now. It’s not surprising for this upcoming game to get so much hype from fans. After all, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been one of the most significant titles among competitive first-person shooter games for over a decade.
This FPS game is set to release in the Summer of 2023. But it is already available for some CS: GO players via a Limited Test. The new features are impressing a lot of famous streamers and eSports personalities like Shroud. And joining that list, recently, the Call of Duty streamer Dr Disrespect also shared his opinion on Counter-Strike 2.

Dr Disrespect wants a custom competitive map contest for Counter-Strike 2
The 41-year-old streamer recently went on to his Twitter, where he talked about how famous custom maps are in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community. However, he would want Valve to use some of the fan-made custom maps as official ones in their upcoming Counter-Strike 2. He also suggested hosting a competition to select those maps.
I know there's a massive catalogue of community designed maps but wouldn't it be incredible to have your own map design qualify as part of an official competitive map design contest for CSGO2?
I'd want in.

Dr Disrespect himself also showed interest in participating in such a competition. For those who don’t know about Doc’s past, he was once a level designer for Sledgehammer Games. While working for American game developers, the ‘Two Time’ worked on many Call of Duty titles. He even claimed to have created half of the maps for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
If Valve takes interest in Doc’s suggestion, it could prove to be a successful move for them and Counter-Strike 2. After all, fan-made custom maps are quite the trend right now. Epic Games saw a lot of success with their Fortnite Creative 2.0, which allows fans to create exciting custom maps. Already fan-made Fortnite horror map has become quite popular among the gaming community.
How did fans react to Doc’s tweet?
Fans were really impressed by Dr Disrespect’s idea for Valve to host a competition to select a custom map for the upcoming Counter-Strike 2. One fan also speculated this could lead to the streamer doing map-designing live streams. Also, some suggested the ‘Two Time’ to do the same with his own FPS multiplayer game Deadrop.
I’d love to see what you and the community come up with

A map that can reward its designer by form of eth? Sounds dope. Imagine the person the makes the next rust or nuketown. 🥹

Can I design a zone in deadrop?

i think with any game its a cool thing to do, i remember Halo Reach designing a map in Forge and placing 3rd or something in the contest to be added in rotation. Still very proud of it and would love to remake it one day for a game

would be a great idea to have community maps vetted by devs in DeadDrop too. Maybe we'll see something like that down the line?
