“I Was So Scared That I Was About to Die” – Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Pro Player ‘k0nfig’ Recalls His Horrifying Incident That Shook Him to the Core

The video gaming community has been home to many memories, good or bad. While we enjoy the good ones, we gather strength for the bad ones. And this time becomes crucial for the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive professional player k0nfig as he has declared his side of the story regarding the injury incident.

Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke is a renowned player in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community. The game servers and spectators have witnessed the marvelous feats that the player has done. But around three weeks ago, a terrifying incident took place.

Recently, the CS: GO player tweeted, “My side of the story,” and explained the incident that took place with him. Which led him to feel, “I was so scared that i was about to die.” In a TwitLonger note, he recalled the night when the team had faced a loss against Heroic. And to clear their mind they had gone out to a nightclub in Paceville (Malta’s nightlife area).

Furthermore, he mentioned that he went to take some food while his teammates went to the club. After 30 minutes of eating, he went to the nightclub and walked up the staircase. And he asked a person, who seemed to be in charge, if he could enter the club and join his friends.

K0nfig informed in the note, “Instead of just saying no, he dissed my tattoos and said that it was “his f****** club” and that I was a “tattoo’ed looser” and that there was no way he would let me in, except if I paid 5000 euro for a table.” And this led to a physical altercation. As the unknown person spat and kicked the player in the face. Which led him to fall down the stairs and sprained his foot consequently.

Moreover, he told that he saw the guy leaving and approached him. He clearly admitted, “I regret this terribly.” As the altercation escalated, leading to k0nfig got even more severely injured. Furthermore, he informed through the note that his foot got dislocated, his mouth was swollen, and was kicked multiple times in the head. Also, the unknown people had stolen his phone as well. But luckily, he was taken to a Maltese hospital.

What future has the player decided for himself?

After reaching the hospital, he got to know that surgery has to be done. And the player wanted to go back to his home in Denmark to proceed with the surgery. Which luckily was made possible. He also mentions a detail that fortunately didn’t happen.

He said, “After communication with Danish doctors through emails they allowed me to travel because there wasn’t air captured under my eye. If there was air under my eye, there would be a chance of me going blind on my right eye because of air pressure.”

K0nfig exclaimed about his emotion while being in the hospital, which is indifferent and unquestionable to occur after such a tragic incident. He admitted to having been crying and missing proper sleep. But the player ended the TwitLonger note with utter strength and positivity.

He said, “But this is nowhere near the end for me. I’m going to war against myself now. Fuck no I’m not going anywhere. I’m going to a psychologist. My mindset is moving forward. Moving forward but seeing the demon in its eyes. I’m not going anywhere. I’ll make this downfall into something positive. This is not who I am. I don’t give up. I’ll do what’s needed to become the god-tier counterstrike player that I know I can be. I will take this time to work on the things that needs to be worked on. I will do everything in my power to come back. My mental health might have gotten hit but it’s not going to take me down. I’ll take this time to recover both physically and mentally. This is definitely the hardest period in my life and I’m accepting it.”
