The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey is pretty much a household name nowadays. And the credit for that goes to her mind-blowing performance in this series. Ellie’s character that she played in this HBO series has pretty much become what people know her by.

The series itself was insanely popular; fans saw it, and some who were not much aware of the games too saw it, which led to it being one of the most-watched HBO series of all time. Following all this success, Bella Ramsey was recently seen discussing how the negative response to her casting as Ellie affected her.

Whenever a series inspired by a popular piece of art gets announced, there are always people worried about its casting. This happened to Batman in 2005, and it happened again to Batman in 2022. No one could accept that Christian Bale and Robert Pattinson could play the multi-layered character effectively, but they proved everyone wrong.

A similar thing happened with Bella Ramsey, when some claiming to be die-hard fans of The Last of Us video game series decided the young actress was unsuitable for the role. And these kinds of things affect everyone, but Bella has never discussed how she was affected until now.

Recently, while talking to Vanity Fair, she revealed how she reacted to all that negative reaction. She said, “I feel like I was hit with most of that when I first got announced as Ellie. That’s when it was the most [intense], and I’d never really experienced any negative reaction before. It was present the whole way through, but it died down after the initial outcry. “

Of course, after the show launched, she proved everyone wrong with her excellent performance as Ellie. While many complained she did not look like Ellie, she had that character inside of her all that time and when she brought her out, it was as if no one else could have done it better. Similar with Pedro Pascal; he played Joel as if he was Joel. And their chemistry pretty much made the show whole.

The cast will be returning for Season 2

And now these actors will soon be back on the sets for Season 2 of this series. It has been mentioned a number of times by various people attached to this project that the second season would start filming by the end of this year.

It would be great to see both of these brilliant actors on the screen once again, and it would be exciting to see what direction the creators take it in. It has also been mentioned by the creators that the second season would divert from Part 2 of the game.
