Imagine, for the purposes of setting the scene, that Mario Kart characters have taken the place of the Last of Us characters. Where Mario and Princess Peach have taken the place of Joel and Ellie while hunting – running away from goombas. while if you don’t flee from a chain-smoking Bowser, you’re going to die.

It’s a shame that you couldn’t hear the catchphrase “It’s a-me, Mario!” more than once, but if that’s what you desired for last Christmas, SNL has published a hilarious crossover of both universes.

A fantastic parody from Saturday Night Life depicts a new dystopian future society based on the Nintendo universe. Given HBO’s success with The Last of Us, the company’s executives haven’t wasted any time in announcing their latest endeavor: adapting a classic video game into a “premier dystopian thriller,” with Pedro Pascal serving as the lead once more.

Mario and Princess Peach travel through the video game wasteland ten years after the fall of the realm.

Mario will once again climb into his kart and face his demons as he navigates the perilous Rainbow Road while carrying out the quest to bring Princess Peach across the crumbling mushroom kingdom. A group of “complex and dramatic HBO characters,” will go with him.

Princess Peach (Chloe Fineman), who is in the passenger seat, looks out over the wasteland and asks what happened out there, to which Mario says, “Karting out here isn’t a game. If we’re going to make it, we’re going to need all the help we can get.” Following this, Mario knocks on the door and Luigi (Mikey Day) makes his appearance armed with a shotgun.

Of course, all of this is sketch comedy from the most recent episode of Saturday Night Life, which had

Pedro Pascal as a guest presenter. The production quality of the program has undoubtedly been beyond expectations.

Later in the trailer, Princess Peach asks Mario what would happen if they crash. He responds profoundly, “A little guy in a cloud comes and uses a fishing pole to put you back on the road.” Therefore, in contrast to Lou, if you die in the Mario world, you will resurrect.

Fans are ecstatic after watching this incredible trailer

And to be honest, since the trailer debuted, people have been gushing over it, with many wishing it were real.

The acclaimed screenwriters of Mario Kart 1 through Mario Kart 8 have used a complete array of special effects and CGI to create a humorous caricature of what this post-apocalyptic cosmos might look like.
