Sony’s announcement regarding the price increase of its PlayStation Plus subscription did come as a surprise to its massive subscription base. While fans all around were, in fact, disappointed, some were hopeful that Sony had something special in store for them.
It was a logical thing to expect; if the asking price of a service increases, one expects to get something extra for it. PlayStation Plus subscribers had similar expectations, but those expectations have been quashed by a recent rumor about upcoming PS Plus games.

Everyone is aware that Sony rewards subscribers of its PlayStation Plus service with a bunch of new games on a monthly basis. Ever since they started a tier system, though, these games have increased in number too, with the highest tier getting the most games.

Recently, September games for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers were revealed online by a leaker. And those games are indeed an interesting bunch. Here they are –
- NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…
- Star Ocean: The Divine Force
- 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
- Sid Meier’s Civilization VI
- Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2
- Unpacking
It is pretty evident that this list consists of only two games that can even be considered triple-A. Others are either double-A online offerings or indie titles. This has come as a disappointment to the fans of the PlayStation platform. They do not see this list as worthy of the $134.99 per year that Sony asks for the PS Plus Extra tier.
It makes sense too; after a price hike of around 30% for each tier. If Sony continues giving subscribers these kinds of titles, they are sure to be disappointed. It would be worth a look at what games they reveal for the Premium tier. This is the most expensive of them all at $159.99 per year.
Fans have been voicing their disappointment on this matter!
Fans all over X have decided to call Sony out on what they call a disappointment. A number of them have stated that their expectations have been crushed by this new reveal.
Dani let it out how someone stated a while ago that Sony gives away high-quality games with a PlayStation Plus subscription.
