The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Beta is in full swing. To ensure the game is free of any serious glitches, developer Activision is doing everything they can. The second weekend of the beta kicked off yesterday and fans are already reporting a number of issues. One of the most significant factors that has come up is an issue with the CoD HQ.

Activision has rolled out COD HQ as a central point or hub to bring all CoD content under one roof. However, COD HQ is the very thing that’s causing CoD players to feel frustrated while playing Modern Warfare 3 beta.

Activision introduced COD HQ in order to help players navigate through their favorite CoD titles easily.

The Call of Duty blog states, “One access point for your future Call of Duty content. Starting with Modern Warfare II and Warzone, and now with Modern Warfare III and beyond, players can navigate all their content in one place, we call it Call of Duty HQ – making it easier to select which game and modes you wish to play.” While the purpose is clearly to make navigation easier, some players are finding this to be problematic.

In a Reddit post, a fan complained that launching MW3 through the COD HQ is incredibly annoying. The fan is not happy about this, which is evident in the post where they state, “It’s such a cumbersome experience trying to start a game and especially annoying when you know you’ll never touch Modern Dogsh*t II again. I love MWIII as a game tbh but I’ve never seen such an obtusely designed way to open a video game before.”

We need a way to directly open MWIII without the waste of time MWII/COD HQ screen.

In order to launch CoD: Modern Warfare 3 beta, players need to launch COD HQ and navigate to MWIII from there. After clicking on Modern Warfare 3, players need to wait for the HQ app to close and the game to finally launch. Over the years, the CoD franchise has amassed a large fan following thanks to a long list of games. However, this particular player believes that they will never be going back to MW2 and hence, the HQ app’s appeal is lost to them.

While the fan loves MW3, the cumbersome process to launch the game isn’t something they can get their head around. On that note, the Redditor believes Activision should do something about it ASAP.

The CoD community voices similar thoughts on the HQ app

Since the post went up, other fans have come forward making similar claims.

One fan says CoD players already have to go through a similar thing with the Battlenet launcher. And if the complete game will also come with a similar issue, then it just becomes all the more annoying.
