In the recent discussion, an executive named Tim Stuart asked if Xbox Cloud Gaming subscribers could stream games on a PS5 through a web browser. To which Kareem Choudhry stated that if Sony’s browser supports the requirements, it might be possible. However, he was uncertain about Sony’s stance and mentions technical issues faced by someone attempting this. He also raised the question of whether Sony would actively block such access.

The discussion continued with another person pointing out that the web browser on the PS5 is not readily available. It’s only accessible through links in messages, and even then, it’s limited in its functionality. This challenges the feasibility of the “browser on PS5” approach. Another executive speculated that Sony might resist this idea to protect their console market. The conclusion was that they should have engineers working on this to get a definite answer.
