Twitch streamer Kai Cenat is facing fire from all sides right now. On August 5, his noble thought of organizing a giveaway in the style MrBeast does backfires horribly, causing a massive riot in the heart of NYC. He was attempting to giveaway gaming PCs and PlayStation 5 on Union Square when a crowd of 2,000 people descended into chaos.

This left 12 people injured and many in a state of panic. Furthermore, the NYPD also arrested the Twitch streamer for this. Although he has since been out of custody, the repercussions of the riot are now catching up to him.

Kai Cenat updates his fans on the aftermath of the NYC riot

Kai Cenat’s first stream after being freed from the NYPD detailed how they have charged him with various offenses. He shared, “For me streaming, I have to chill for a little bit to the fact that one, I have court dates to appear to and two, my first court date is August 16.” 

The streamer also shared how it will be a hectic schedule for the streamer, “I have to go to court and handle a lot of things“. Furthermore, Cenat went on to share how he would not be streaming to the platform for a short time, as he is taking care of this issue.

But the streamer assured the fans the hiatus will be a short one due to court matters. “Y’all not going to be seeing me for a little bit. And with a little bit, I mean a little bit. It’s not going to be long bro,” he said.

The aftermath of the NYC riots

The first stream Kai Cenat stream, after being released by the NYPD, was filled with strong-worded comments for the rioters. He did not hold back on giving the rioters a piece of his mind, condemning their actions altogether.

The official statement given by NYPD was, The influencer will be charged with multiple counts, at least two counts of inciting a riot, unlawful assembly, and a few other charges”. Apart from Kai Cenat, 65 other people were caught by the NYPD for causing unrest. Sadly, 30 arrests of those were juveniles.
