For those who don’t know him, Michael has been part of Rockstar since 2007. He was a creative lead on some of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful IPs of all time. Most notably, though, he is known for his work on Red Dead Redemption as well as Grand Theft Auto. To be precise, he was involved in games such as Grand Theft Auto IV, RDR, Max Payne 3, LA Noire, RDR 2, and Grant Theft Auto V.
Recently, a curious fan noticed that Michael Unsworth is no longer associated with Rockstar Games. The writer has reportedly left the company after 16 years. This update was noticed on the writer’s LinkedIn profile. Interestingly, he’s only one of many people to leave the publisher in the last seven years. After Leslie Benzies left in 2016, Dan Houser (March 2020) and Lazlow (August 2020) also moved on to pursue different opportunities.
Meanwhile, Michael’s departure has left certain fans disappointed. Especially, those who are impatiently waiting for GTA 6. It seems like they believe he was part of the development team working on the upcoming installment.
