A few days back, Warner Bros’ Mortal Kombat finally revealed its trailer to the world. Apparently, the devs took fans back in time as the title dropped Mortal Kombat 1 instead of MK 12. Fans found this major change a little hard to accept as they could not understand the ideology behind the title. Still, they were happy, as the title finally had an official release date.
However, there was a certain group of gamers who were not in awe of the title and expressed it on the internet. Surprisingly, popular YouTuber MoistCr1TiKaL was also a part of it, as he shared his sorrows during his recent stream.

During his recent stream, fans asked Charles to watch MK 1’s trailer for them. They wanted to understand his reaction, let alone learn about his opinion regarding the game. But seconds into watching the trailer, the YouTuber burst out, sharing thoughts about the title.
“I hate the title. I want to make that clear right off. I hate this trend where you get deep into a franchise, and then you just make the title Mortal Kombat or in this case even more egregious Mortal Kombat 1. I hate it, I hate it,” he kept saying on screen.

Then, MoistCr1TiKaL also penned down a list of games that did a similar thing. He mentioned God Of War 2018, Star Wars: Battlefront, and Call Of Duty Modern Warfare, which had similar names as the sequel.

Moreover, one fan pointed out that Mortal Kombat 9 also featured a similar name to the upcoming one, instantly irking the content creator. “I get like that argument of it but it’s a soft reboot, so it makes sense okay just choose a different name. It’s not that important. Mortal Kombat 12 would have worked fine,” he claimed while addressing fans.
However, that did not mean Charlie had a negative opinion about the game, as he nodded to like it. But neither did that hide his hate towards the name, as he made it far clear to the community. Last but not least, MoistCr1TiKaL also spoke about how fighting games emptied fans’ pockets. He believed the upcoming Street Fighter, Tekken, and Project L to storm the markets on release.
