In 2021, Santa Monica Studio’s The God of War Ragnarok became a phenomenon in the world of gaming. A highly polished storyline, in-depth characters, and a complete reimagining of the iconic hyper-angry, and aggressive Greek God won the hearts of gamers everywhere.
While the game was near perfect in many aspects, there was a feature that was highly criticized by fans and critics. In a recent interview, even one member of the main cast of the game shared their thoughts on how much they would love it if the feature could be turned off or removed from the game.

God of War actor is tired of a feature in the game
Sunny Suljic is the actor and model behind the character of Atreus aka Loki. He is the co-protagonist of the story, alongside Kratos, from the previous God of War in Greece. In their journey to shape their own destinies, the father-son duo goes through many dangers as well as elaborate puzzles.
Just like the action sequences, the puzzles are also a vital element of the Gameplay, and just like the action, Atreus also plays a role in the puzzle solving, but in a much more ‘infuriating’ way. To help the player make sense of different puzzles and obstacles, Devs thought of a clever mechanic. They made Atreaus a walking guide.
While on paper this idea seems to be very innovative and nice, in the game players were frustrated by Loki’s constant blabbering. On each step, Loki had something to say. From pointing out potential solutions to straight out solving it for the players, this feature became so massively disliked that guides were published on how to turn it off.

But unfortunately, there is no way to do that. Even the actor behind the character was frustrated by Loki’s unsolicited nudges. In a recent interview with IGN Suljic said, “Because I’m trying to do the puzzles, and then I hear myself giving myself the hints and I just…I get so sick of hearing my own voice sometimes.”

“It’s so frustrating, but well it is what it is,” said Sunny in a defeated tone. If Sunny is so annoyed with his character’s interference, we could only imagine what the actor behind Mimir must feel like! Many believe the next God of War will be focusing on Atreus as the main character, we hope till then he learns to keep his silence like his father.
