Following a recent incident involving the harassment of a streamer by a Twitch staff member, Thea Booysen has joined the protest against Twitch. The incident further fueled discontent among creators and drew attention to the need for change within the platform.

During a live stream, content creator Harris Heller engaged in a discussion about Twitch’s controversial Branded Content guidelines. Twitch staff member Seth Hendrix joined the stream and made comments implying assumptions on Heller’s part. This led to Heller expressing discomfort, feeling gaslit by Twitch staff, and abruptly ending his stream. The clip of this interaction went viral on Twitter, garnering attention and support from Thea Booysen, who expressed her disapproval saying, “I Don’t Like This at All”.

The catalyst for the current wave of protest stems from Twitch’s recently announced policy regarding embedded ads within streams. Effective July 1st, Twitch will no longer allow streamers to feature third-party display, video, or audio ads. This policy has triggered discontent among prominent streamers like Asmongold and Ninja, who have vocally expressed their displeasure and joined the protest movement.
