The Swedish online sensation and the former king of YouTube, Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg aka PewDiePie, once shared how he plans to recover from his variety of controversies. Pewds has been on the platform for more than 10 years and in his long career he has been a catalyst of great movements as well as devastating falls. 

Felix started his career as a gamer. He used to make Let’s play videos on horror games and wacky flash games. He is considered one of the veterans who shaped the gaming sphere on YouTube. Alongside his friends and fellow YouTubers, Jacksepticeye and Markiplier, they are deemed the “Big Three” of YouTube gaming. Among them, Pewds is the biggest in terms of subscribers and also the most controversial. 

PewDiePie shares his ‘fail-safe’ for controversies

PewDiePie had witnessed sensational growth on YouTube. For a long time, he held the title of the “king of YouTube” with his absurdly high subscriber counts. But his journey hasn’t been all pleasant either. He is considered one of the reasons behind the biggest shortage of ad revenues on YouTube, named the “Adpocalypse” crisis.

But as the years have gone by, Pewds has grown a lot. Currently, he resides in Japan with his wife Marzia, and considers himself to be ‘retired’ from YouTube and controversies. But during one of the most turbulent periods of his career, his war phase with T-Series, he had been getting involved in new controversies every day.

During this period there was a meme floating around where fans were posting pictures of people having facial similarities with PewDiePie. There is even a dedicated subreddit called r/Foundfelix where users used to post pictures. This meme gave Pewds an amazing idea of protecting himself from all his past controversies.

“Why are there so many f*kig PewDiePies,” said Felix frustratedly. “If there are many PewDiePies then I can shift blame for all my controversies to other PewDiePies.” Having this idea struck his mind, Felix took a defensive stance and said, “I have never done anything bad in my life. This has all been Alt-Reality PewDiePies. The conspiracy is that the news media created fake PewDiePies to frame me.”

He called himself the “innocentPie” who has never done anything wrong but was always framed for other variant’s crimes. This whole statement was clearly said in sarcasm. No matter how grave the situation or the allegations have been, Pewds has always come forward to own up to his faults. So looking at his record, it is hard to believe that, even if he had this power, he would have ever used it.
