Jeff Grubb was discussing the latest State of Play on his Game Mess Podcast. He claimed that the State of Play is meant to satisfy the co-marketing partners. It’s like a strategy to present a small bite of what they actually have in their bags. He further explained that Sony has been planning to host a bigger showcase event for a while.

The gaming insider shared, “They’re saving their good stuff for the PlayStation Showcase that’s gonna happen before E3. It was supposed to happen last fall, but they kept pushing back because their developers weren’t ready. But now that those developers are ready, they should have a massive show that really sets up the second phase of the PlayStation 5.”

But fans should take it with a grain of salt, as Sony is yet to make any official announcement.
