The Legend of Zelda has become the talk of the town and is guaranteed to be nominated for the Game of the Year Award 2023. Furthermore, Nintendo was able to win the Zelda fandom’s hearts by revolutionizing every iconic feature from past titles. Indeed, it was the hardest job for developers to live up to BOTW’s left-behind legacy.

Breath of the Wild completely changed players’ perspectives on open-world games. From combat to shrines, Nintendo has done a phenomenal job designing TOTK’s open world. In order to set the minimum difficulty for players, Nintendo challenges users’ skills to complete some in-game shrine.

One such shrine is Wind Temple that players will run into while working on Tulin of Rito Village’s main quest. In order to conquer the Wind Temple, players are tasked to open five locks and some of them are quite tricky to access. Here are some simple steps for the Wind Temple walkthrough.

How to conquer Wind Temple in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Before starting your journey to Wind Temple in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, make sure to pack wood and flint with you. Furthermore, take some cold resistance in advance to face the brutally cold temperature outside of the temple. In order to complete the Wind Temple, you will need to activate five locks before facing the boss, Colgera .

First Turbine Lock

The first lock can be found in a small room in the northeast quadrant of 1 floor. Players need to attach an icicle to the broken lever that is adjacent to the room’s entrance by using the Ultrahand ability. Now, they have to push the lever sideways in order to activate the first lock.

Second Turbine Lock

After activating the first lock, head north from the center of the ship to see two locked rooms. Once players clear the nearby enemies, use the Ultrahand on the huge doors in the middle of the roof to gain access to the lasers below. Now, jump down to the laser area and make your way further down to B1 of the Wind Temple.

Players will notice another room with a lever on the east side of the Wind Temple B1. Now, use your Ultrahand skill and attach the nearby icicle to the broken lever. By using the now-functional lever, fans can access the second turbine lock. Make sure to use Tulin’s gust on it and return to the central area once done.

Third Turbine Lock

In order to find the third lock, players should begin by locating a cannon that is attached to the west side of the ship. They can find a hole directly underneath this cannon that leads to the third lock located in the B2 of the temple. By showcasing their perfect paragliding skills, players should land on one of the large metal waings first and then advance into B2.

Fourth Turbine Lock

After successfully activating the first three turbine locks, players need to glide from the air current at the center of 1F. At the peak of this boost, they should glide to the top of the large structure to the north, using Tulin’s Gust if necessary.

Here fans will notice two large metal doors and with the help of Ultrahand skills, they can unlock them. Now, players need to glide their way down, avoiding every laser on their way to the bottom. As they reach their destination at the bottom, they will notice a large opening that provides direct access to the fourth lock.

Fifth Turbine Lock

To activate the final lock, users need to jump from the southeast quadrant of 1F and then break through an icicle barrier. The fifth lock is located at B1 of the Wind Temple. After passing the barrier, they should head to the right side and hit the large spinning gear with Recall to send it in the other direction.

After overcoming many challenges and fighting a TotK Construct, players should use an arrow to knock down one of the large icicles hanging from the ceiling. Now, they need to attach the icicle to bridge the gap between the gears that are adjacent to the gate. It will cause the gate to unlock and fans have access to the fifth lock.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Beat the Wind Temple Boss (Colgera)

After unlocking all five turbine locks, players should head back to the 1F and interact with the green circle near the air current in the center. This will initiate a fight with the Wind Temple’s boss, Colgera, and players will have to withstand two-boss phases of Colgera during the combat.

Before starting the fight, make sure to have over a dozen or so Aerocuda wings. Furthermore, the battle will take place outside the temple; it would be better to prepare some cold resistance potions beforehand. Since players will spend most of their time in the air, firing arrows, it’s best to make the necessary preparation before heading out.

Interestingly, time will slow down once players equip bows in their hands, allowing them to take accurate shots at the cost of their stamina. Colgera has several ice plates on its underside that users need to break open with arrows. Once broken open, they can hit its weak point under the ice.

With the use of aerocuda wings fused to arrows, fans will be able to easily hit the ice and weak points. Surprisingly, Colgera will fly in and out of portals, making it harder for users to track and hit the Wind Temple Boss. Once you have destroyed all three segments, Colgera will disappear and reappear for its second phase.

The second phase will follow the same process, except Colgera will now summon annoying tornados that players should avoid. Once again, fire at the ice on Colgera’s underbelly to expose its weak points, and then hit the weak points. By repeating these simple steps, the Boss will be soon down to its knees.

Once the boss is down, grab the Heart Container that lands in front of you and follow the cutscene. This will unlock the Tulin’s abilities around the map and freely explore without facing any snowstorm on their way.
