Dead Space’s campaign might not be very long, but its levels are huge and the remake has expanded over them even more. But to finish the story of this game, players have to follow that tried and tested linear path developers have laid out for them.
To unlock that alternate ending, players need to follow this linear path and continue on it. And they have to beat the final boss and finish the story.

Once you have finished the story for the first time, start the game’s New Game + mode. Once in this mode, players would have to look for a new kind of collectible called “Marker Fragments”. You have to collect 12 of these marker fragments.

Usually, each chapter has one of these, except for chapters 5 and 10, which have two each. Also, do not bother looking at chapters 9 and 12. They have none of these fragments. Once players get their hands on all the fragments, they just have to go to Captain Mathius’ office.
His office can be found in Executive Chambers on the crew deck, and just place these fragments on the Pedestals. Once this is done, just complete the game as you would and you would find a surprise waiting when you hit the final level.
Now it is pretty understandable that this is not a very straightforward way of unlocking an ending and a trophy, but this is the only way to do it.
