For gamers, 2023 is looking to be a great year. For platform holders like Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo, 2023 might prove even more productive and profitable than 2022 was. There are reasons why this is being said. All these companies have a lot of stuff announced for next year.

However, Nintendo could have the perfect chance to dominate the race. So let us take a thorough look at all three of them one by one.

Xbox- Avowed, Fable, Starfield, and maybe Elder Scrolls 6

A while ago, Phil Spencer made it clear that 2023 would bring a bunch of exclusives to the platform. And people are counting on him to stand by his words. The current year, which is almost over, was not very eventful for Xbox. The biggest thing they tried to do was their ongoing attempt to acquire Activision, even though it is getting delayed because of some reason or the other.

For 2023 though, Microsoft has a bunch of games lined up. Avowed is an RPG game by brilliant Obsidian studios, Fable by Playground Games best known for the Forza Horizon series, and Starfield by the legendary Bethesda Software. Aside from these titles, there are a few unconfirmed games, such as Hideo Kojima’s cloud-based horror game “Overdose”, Elder Scrolls 6, and Senua’s Saga. These three might make it to Xbox next year, as there’s no release date for them yet.

PlayStation- VR 2, Spider-Man 2, Wolverine, Final Fantasy 16, Silent Hill 2

PlayStation once again managed to secure a number of exclusives for its users to enjoy in 2023. From sequels like Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 16 to remakes like Silent Hill to something new altogether, such as Wolverine, Sony has a lot going and they plan to flaunt it all in 2023.

Then there’s also some news of a PlayStation 5 Slim to be revealed next year. With such big titles and two new pieces of hardware altogether, Sony sure has a lot planned for 2023. Not to forget, the much-awaited VR2 is also available for pre-booking as it is releasing in February.

Nintendo- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid 4, and Switch 2?

Now from the outside, it looks like Nintendo does not have much for their fans next year. But the first thing here is, whenever there’s a new Zelda game planned for launch, no other game even comes close to its success. Zelda always comes at the top. And it has happened time and time again.

Then there’s the much-awaited Metroid 4. A game that has been in development for so long. It was announced in 2017, and its development got restarted in 2019. We are sure this game would see the light of day in 2023 as last year’s Metroid Dread has already proved that people want new Metroid games.

But what could potentially make Nintendo actually stand out from the other console competitors could be the new Switch console. The current one has been in the market since 2017, but it feels like its time is edging close to an end. Hence, the revelation of the new console could be their trump card.

Even if they give it a new name altogether, a new Nintendo console can be expected in 2023. Numerous times, a Zelda game has launched on two generations of systems at once. It has been suggested by most people that if Nintendo manages to pull this off, they would have won 2023 hands down.
