Activision recently acknowledged the devs who have worked on Call of Duty. Further, the publisher mentioned each and every studio currently busy with different COD projects. To mark the franchise’s 20th anniversary, which will be on the 29th of this month, the publisher decided to give a shoutout to all the studios’ contribution in making the action saga highly successful.

Throughout the period of 20 years, the franchise has witnessed the addition of new people creating more unique titles. It’s evident from games inside the Black Ops and Modern Warfare sub-series. Further, there have been individual offerings such as Advanced Warfare, Vanguard, Infinite Warfare, and World at War. All of them have been made with extensive hard work put in by various teams comprising different studios. Below is the list reflecting on the growing roster of developers as of 2023:

The aforementioned information was revealed in a blog from Activision highlighting the 20-year journey of the series. As of now, fans are awaiting their latest installment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It’s set to arrive next month, being a direct continuation of 2022’s Modern Warfare II.
What to expect from COD going forward?
Earlier this month, Activision was officially acquired by Microsoft. Which means, IPs like Warcraft, Crash Bandicoot, Candy Crush Saga, and Call of Duty are now owned by the Xbox maker. Going forward, gamers can expect significant changes under the series.

After the launch of this year’s installment MW3, one can expect the current number of teams working on COD titles to increase. It’s because there are many Xbox studios under Microsoft that may eventually extend their support in developing upcoming projects. Especially, taking into consideration the fact that all FPS games under Activision’s IP require a lot of time and workforce.
