Fortnite has disappointed a majority of its fans as they complained about their game being stuck in Chapter 2, Season 3. Two years back, Epic games pulled out the title from the App Store as the franchise had to go through multiple issues.
This move heavily affected their user base as the game was removed from many iOS devices, such as the iPhone, iPad, iMac, and MacBook. As a result, users started selling their phones for a staggering $10K, with the game installed on their devices. It indirectly affected Apple’s sales, as people chose the ones having their favorite gaming title.

Despite its massive popularity, there’s no way to download and play Fortnite on Apple’s iPhones and iPads.
In August 2020, the duo parted ways as Apple pulled out one of the most popular games from their App store. This dominant move from the California tech giant came after Epic Games released an update, enabling players to circumvent Apple’s payment systems and pay Epic directly.
Apple did not approve this as it surpassed the 30% fee that they originally charged. Eventually, they erased the app from their store, causing inconvenience to all the fans.
Epic responded to this action with a lawsuit, ultimately giving rise to a legal battle between the two companies. The developer even released a protest ad titled ‘1984’, asking fans to free Fortnite from Apple. Apart from that, they also started a raging #freefortnite thread across the internet.

Later, Apple put out a statement saying, ‘Epic Games took the unfortunate step of violating the App Store guidelines that are applied equally to every developer and designed to keep the store safe for our users. As a result, their Fortnite app has been removed from the store.
Epic enabled a feature in its app which was not reviewed or approved by Apple, and they did so with the express intent of violating the App Store guidelines regarding in-app payments that apply to every developer who sells digital goods or services.’
As of now, the game is still not officially available on iOS, although Microsoft has found a way to download it via browser. So, if your game is stuck in Chapter 2, Season 3, you should definitely check this out.
