Guerrilla Games’ upcoming, anticipated sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, is just slightly away from its eventual debut in early 2022. Since its gameplay reveal earlier this year, it has kept the fans curious and hooked. This is a very positive thing for any new gaming title, especially during the phase just before the launch. Now it seems like the hype will only increase from here, as Horizon Forbidden West just received its official ESRB rating, nearly 60 days before its ultimate arrival.
For those who are unaware of the term, ESRB refers to Entertainment Software Rating Board. On a yearly basis, it gives a certain rating to a newly released video game, thus providing the fans with a brief knowledge of what to expect from the title. Basically, the ESRB rating tells about the general themes or situations included in a game. And Horizon Forbidden West has also finally received its rating, which is a “T” for Teen. It translates to Blood, Language, Use of Alcohol, and Violence.

Horizon Forbidden West officially rated by ESRB!
The revealed rating by ESRB comes as no surprise because the predecessor, Horizon Zero Dawn also had a “T” rating. So, the sequel is in the line with the first part in terms of the general theme. While providing the rating for Horizon Forbidden the ESRB also mentioned a description for the awaited installment. It wrote that the game will see the players taking the role of Aloy, traveling to explore the source of a suspicious signal.
In a third-person setting, players will move from one place to another in post-apocalyptic environments to finish multiple quests. They will interact with other characters while also engaging in combat against advanced machines and enemy tribes.
Adding further, the ESRB description reads that the game will feature scenes with blood and also violence. It will be evident where the player will kill an opponent with a weapon such as a sword, statue, or spear. Moreover, the game will also have several drunk characters in certain sequences. Well, that’s pretty much it as far as the rating details are concerned. We won’t spoil more information for you as the title is yet to launch globally.
