Horizon: Forbidden West creator Guerilla Games is celebrating 20 glorious years since its inception. The developer has been through various PlayStation franchises over the years and managed to give their fans some really exciting experiences too.

From exhilarating first-person shooters to excitingly glorious open worlds, Guerilla Games really showed their prowess in creating distinctive experiences. And now, on the occasion of this exciting achievement, the studio’s director talks about their games and what future they have planned for those games.

Guerilla Games is taking Aloy to a new location in the PlayStation-exclusive Horizon: Forbidden West sequel

While talking about developing Sony PlayStation first-party games for such a long time, studio director Jan-Bart van Beek also dropped some hints on a possible sequel to Horizon: Forbidden West. He mentioned that this series has seen a total of 32.7 million sales. And they are pretty proud of this achievement.

And then he dropped a hint about this game’s sequel and said, “I’d like to share that we are so excited that Aloy’s adventures will continue. Her latest mission takes her to the ruins of Los Angeles in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores, and we can’t wait for you to find out where she’ll go next.” This means a new game is already in the works, and that Aloy will be traveling to new locations in this new game.

The first game Horizon: Zero Dawn introduced the post-apocalyptic United States as its setting. It told the story of a girl on a quest to find out what happened to the world. She journeys across the United States, fighting weird mechanical wildlife. She also uncovers the secrets behind the existence of those machines piece by piece while learning ways to control them.

This game presented players with a story that made them think. Its sequel had to live up to this game’s achievements, and in many ways, it succeeded in doing so.

The sequel was set in the Frontiers, hence it was named The Forbidden West. The game set a milestone for visuals on both the PlayStation 5 and PS4. Its lush and detailed environments and mind-blowing lightning made it one of the best-looking games on the PS5. It would be interesting to see how they top the sequel visually.
