Avalanche Software’s open-world RPG based on the Harry Potter universe, Hogwarts Legacy, is already garnering some highly positive reviews from fans and critics alike. But the game has a glaring shortcoming, the lack of multiplayer mode. Ever since the release, a group of fans has been very vocal about their demand for a multiplayer mode in the game.

However, there haven’t been any statements from the developers about a future multiplayer mode. From the beginning, Avalanche and Warner Brothers had planned to make the game a single-player exclusive. So the chances for an online mode are very bleak. That is why, to have what they want, fans took the matter into their hands.

When the developers refrained from sharing any plans for a future online mode or servers, a group of fans got busy building their own RP (roleplay) servers for the game. Much like GTA, these servers will offer online lobbies for players to join each other’s games and progress or have fun in the overworld together.

Will there be a multiplayer update in the future?

Though Hogwarts was initially planned to be a single-player adventure, it doesn’t mean the hopes for a multiplayer mod are completely unreasonable. There have already been some rumors about a future update that will bring the widely missing Quidditch sport to the game. There are speculations that Quidditch being a team-based game, the in-game variant, may offer a multiplayer aspect to the gameplay.
