Avalanche Software managed to sell over 15 million copies of Hogwarts Legacy worldwide. This resulted in the company earning a whopping $1billion + in sales. While the game looks extremely polished and immerses players in the world of Wizardry, releasing the Nintendo Switch version started becoming a concern. The studio faced multiple challenges while developing the game for the Switch. One of the main issues was trying to maintain the visual quality and aesthetic of the game on a less powerful handheld like the Switch.

The Nintendo Switch pales in comparison when it comes to stronger systems like the Microsoft platforms and PlayStations. The Nintendo Switch is strong enough to support games like The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. But when it comes to comparing it to a title made for stronger platforms, some questions are raised.

The Switch Port looks quite different, with many textures and lighting effects missing. But this does not take away from the original aesthetic that Avalanche Studios has worked upon. The game still gives players an immersive experience of Hogwarts where they can explore the magical world where the Harry Potter lore is set. Along with a few graphical changes, players will notice a few elements like animals and stones missing in the Switch version.

Overall, the port runs smoothly and will give players a good experience in the Hogwarts’ realm of magic. Players can pick up a physical copy of the game or just purchase it on the Nintendo eShop. Although the experience is better on other platforms, the Switch version of the game still holds up much better than the disastrous Mortal Kombat 1.
