Neon Giant’s cyberpunk-inspired The Ascent has been rated for a second time, just one month after it was initially rated in Taiwan, in December 2021. However, this time, the title has received the ESRB rating from the US board. Interestingly, the game’s rating in Taiwan was for PlayStation platform, and the newest one is also for the two consoles.
In case you missed it, The Ascent released in July 2021 as an Xbox exclusive and also for the PC. Simply put, it will remind players of CDPR’s highly ambitious 2020 title, Cyberpunk 2077. Along with Swedish developer Neon Giant, Curve Games is its publisher. However, the big news is surely going to be its PlayStation launch, which is coming soon.

Cyberpunk-styled The Ascent gets rated for PlayStation
Being an Xbox exclusive, the game has been available for the Xbox Game Pass as well, for anyone who is interested in playing it. So far, there’s been no official update on the launch of The Ascent for Sony’s platforms.
However, last year in October, developer Neon Giant did drop a hint for a PlayStation 5 release, due to fans’ demand. Which implies that the cyberpunk-styled The Ascent is quite popular among the gamers. Well, in that case, the makers could come up with a proper date soon.
The latest news of the Xbox project receiving a PS5 and PS4 rating under ESRB has only escalated the hype. Because now, the fans can take a breath of relief regarding the possibility of The Ascent coming to PlayStation.

For those who are unaware, the game’s story is based in a dystopian, cyberpunk world. Players take on the role of a worker under The Ascent Group. The latter is a huge megacorporation that shockingly collapses, resulting in chaos and anarchy.
The main objective of the players, as the protagonist, is to find the reason behind The Ascent’s downfall. At the same time, they have to prevent the city’s takeover by various organizations and syndicates.
