As the release date of the highly anticipated Super Mario Bros. movie comes close, the Hollywood big names take a moment to indulge in their gamer side. In a recent bit for the movie’s promotion, Mario actor Chris Pratt appeared in Jimmy Fallon’s late-night talk show. 

Being based on one of the most iconic games in pop culture history, the Super Mario Bros. movie is the much-awaited silver-screen adaptation of Nintendo’s face franchise. That is why the promotional campaigns of the movie have also implemented gaming-related activities in the routines, such as playing video games with YouTubers and Game Pop Quiz in talk shows.

In a recent talk show interview, Guardians of the Galaxy actor Chris Pratt appeared on the revered Hollywood talk show, The Jimmy Fallon Show. Jimmy’s show is known for making the big names of Hollywood participate in silly games for entertainment. Celebrating the Super Mario Bros. movie, Jimmy challenged Chris to a video game trivia contest. 

The stake for the game was simple. Both Jimmy and Chris sat in chairs that could be elevated. They wore hats with long spikes. With each wrong answer or if the opponent gives the correct answer, the player will be elevated into a pipe in the ceiling. When a player gets elevated enough into the pipe, they will be showered with a surprise. Watch: 

The questions were very straightforward. The first was the easiest and the difficulty increased with each question. The first question of the contest was, “In 2015, the first six games were introduced into the world of video Hall of Fame name of these games.” Chris answered it with swiftness as Super Mario was one of the six games.

Then the spotlight fell on Jimmy and he also answered his question correctly and Chris was lifted towards the pipe. Lifting the actor, “he’s more man than you” said Steve Higgins. As the game went forward. Both Chris and Jimmy gave each other tough competition. But in the end, Jimmy was the one who had the upper hand and Pratt had to witness the ‘shower.’ 

The silver screen adaption of the Super Mario Bros. game, featuring Chris Pratt, Jack Black, Anya Taylor Joy, Charlie Day, and more. The movie is set to release on April 7th, 2023 in most major countries.
