Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the biggest games on the Nintendo Switch. It has gathered a vast audience, and the community is growing day by day. However, New Horizons has lost its spark as compared to 2020 due to the lack of in-game content.

After the Sanrio update, everyone saw the downfall of New Horizons and several veterans started quitting the game. Although Nintendo is trying its best by introducing new seasonal events, it’s still not enough to lighten up players’ moods. Of course, many people are still playing ACNH to this day; we can’t ignore the fact that a sizeable portion of the community feels underwhelmed with the recent updates.

It’s mainly because, unlike ACNH, New Leaf could meet users’ expectations for its entire lifetime. Players did get bored with New Leaf; however, Nintendo always updated the game right before any controversies were about to begin. Especially the Welcome Amiibo update was a major update and provided numerous new features to the game.

It introduced new and returning characters, Amiibo functionality, a new form of currency, hundreds of furniture pieces, many life quality features, a new house upgrade, two new mini-games, new locations on the map, and much more. Whereas, in New Horizons, players are hearing the news of Brewster’s returning to the game for months.

Not to mention that ACNH offers so little as compared to New Leaf. Moreover, if we compare the updated contents of New Leaf to ACNH, we will all end up in disappointment. In addition to that, several players are complaining regarding the in-game dialogues in New Horizons. While in New Leaf, lack of dialogues was never a big issue.
