Baldur’s Gate 3 was released recently, and it looks like fans are loving this game to its core. But what’s even more surprising is the fact that many who have never touched a Baldur’s Gate game before are trying their hands on it.

With such an expansion in its fanbase, it is pretty obvious that many would find this kind of game hard to play. It is not Skyrim after all. It’s more old-school than many would like. For such newcomers, here are some tips on how to quickly get OP in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Get the Everburn Blade

When the game starts and the first-ever cutscene ends, players are instantly pushed toward their first choice. Here, they see a demon commander fighting an NPC. They are asked to move on and continue towards their objective, but they can try and fight the Demon instead.

If they are successful in doing so, they get a hefty amount of XP as well as the Everburn Blade. It’s a two-handed sword that also does fire damage!

Introduction to the levels

Once players have escaped the ship, they will have leveled up. It’s such a huge game in this sense that it becomes highly convoluted when one starts talking about levels. Hence, we would simply recommend that players simply look around and start piling up any instakill options they see around.

Instant Kill abilities basically push enemies away from the player character. Either doing a massive amount of damage or killing them instantly.

Teammates or Companions

The first and most important thing players should do is add rogues to their party, their stealth ability can come in handy in various scenarios.

Loot everything you see

This game is not basically asking players to pick up everything they see, but it would only help them. Just keep on picking stuff and sending that stuff to the camp. Players are free to go back to their camp and check on that stuff whenever they feel like it.

Doing this serves one massive purpose: players do not miss something important. They have a chance of getting their hands on some very unique items if they do so. Also, for all the useless stuff, there would be a vendor in this game somewhere who would be more than happy to take that number of players.

Buy good weapons

Once players find a vendor, they can quickly sell all of that junk that they have been hoarding all the time. Now, they use that money to buy some powerful equipment. Players should use this opportunity to equip their whole party with at least one green weapon. This would make them a force to reckon with in the early game.

Magic Items and where to find them

Magic Items can be very useful in this game. On some occasions, they can even be the difference between life and death; hence, it is recommended that players be on the lookout for such pieces of equipment.

There are many locations where players can find such items, one of them is the blighted village. This village would be somewhat in the center of the map. Northwest of the overgrown ruin, right where players start their journey through this world.

In a blighted village, players can find a bunch of magic items, but beware of the goblins that can ambush them if they just barge in without consideration.

Now players should find the shabby wooden doors in this village. It is a small dungeon in which players would find a chest. In this chest, players can find an enchanted sword. In the same location, there’s a breakable wall that opens the way for an even darker passage.

Then outside, there would be yet another chest carrying another magic item. The gist of it is, if they explore the village and there’s a bunch of players they can grab here, that would definitely aid them in their journey forward.

Following these tips would really help make the treacherous world of Baldur’s Gate 3 bearable to explore and get around in. Most of it, though, depends on the patience of players and their management skills, as old-school RPGs are all about management.
