FromSoftware seems to be having an amazing time ever since it released the most anticipated game of the year, Elden Ring in February. The craze of this title is such that it’s now become the third most-played Xbox game in 2022.
Surprisingly, Elden Ring, which comes at a cost, is only behind free-to-play offerings like Fortnite and 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Elden Ring competing with Xbox hits like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Industry insider account BenjiSales recently spotted something interesting while going through the Microsoft store in the United States.
On Twitter, the insider shared crucial information regarding Elden Ring and its impressive performance. He mentioned that despite being a paid and costly game, the fantasy RPG is the third most-played Xbox game.

Microsoft’s online store showed it on the third spot alongside Fortnite and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. These two are free-to-play as compared to Elden Ring, which is available for $59.99 in the US.
BenjiSales also added that even despite its difficulty levels, the FromSoftware title is a hit with the players. It has succeeded in engaging them for longer durations, for sure.
Well, that’s true, indeed, as Elden Ring is a phenomenal release, without any doubt. In terms of critical reception, it’s currently one of the best-rated games of all time, according to Metacritic. Moreover, it’s been among the best-selling releases consistently.

Being a top Xbox title is surely a huge accomplishment not only for the game but also for Microsoft as well; generally, it’s the PlayStation that players tend to lean towards whenever there’s a massive launch.
Elden Ring is now available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
