In a recent stream on Twitch, Nick ‘Nickmercs’ Kolcheff took a moment to thank Ninja (Tyler Blevins) for opening the doors to exclusive contracts for streamers. Nickmercs believes that this has paved the way for streamers to turn their passion into a career.

Ninja is probably one of the most popular streamers of Twitch and one of the firsts to ever grow from the streaming platform. Many streamers followed his footsteps to take up streaming as a full-time job. Although, at present, he doesn’t amass the same amount of viewership as he used to, his legacy on the streaming platform can never be ignored.

Nickmercs says,  “I’d also like to give a big shoutout to that boy TBlev man. Tyler Blevins. Ninja! Ninja! Me and Ninja are two very different individuals, but we got a couple of things in common. We both love to game. We both love to play competitively. We’re both poppin’ in Halo and stuff. I remember back when all this stuff started popping off for streamers, man, he really did lead it, you know. The moves he made and the way he did his thing.

He further adds, “There’s no denying the amount of hours he put in early Fortnite, there’s no denying that. And I’ll never forget it. He really did open up the gates for a lot of this stuff. Big shout-out to him, we all love the kid. We all appreciate him.”

It indeed is striking that many Twitch streamers like Dr Lupo, Dr Disrespect, and TimTheTatman have left the platform and switched to YouTube. TimTheTatman’s first live stream on YouTube amassed a viewership of 100k in its first hour. The deal between him and YouTube is highly beneficial to the streamer, given the number of support utilities available from Google.
