343 has confirmed that they are getting Halo 2’s map turf remake into the Master Chief Collection. They have also further outlined several new features to arrive in the new Halo. There is also a new campaign collectible, Flood Firefight, and more!
New maps coming to Halo 3 in The Master Chief Collection
Icebox was initially a multiplayer map from Halo Online, later canceled (343 has added Halo Online maps to Halo 3 before). Unlike the original, which is set in Mombasa, Icebox is set in Tyumen, Russia.

According to 343 Industries, a Halo 3: ODST Firefight update would offer per-wave customizing options, “bringing it up to Halo: Reach’s choices.” These features will allow players to curate certain Firefight missions, similar to what was offered in Halo: Reach, making the horde mode much more replayable and intriguing. In the blog post, the devs also teased the coming of the Flood in Halo 3: ODST Firefight with a screenshot as seen above, but the Flood would not be present throughout the flight.
