With fans of the Halo franchise yearning to hear from developer 343 Industries, there is finally some official news regarding the first season of the Halo: Infinite. For starters, it will be called “Heroes of Reach”. The name is taken from an older Halo title, called Halo: The Fall of Reach. And the coming season is supposed to be based on The Fall of Reach. But to what extent, remains to be seen.

Why The Fall of Reach? Well, because the Fall of Reach has played a significant role in the progression of the franchise. “Reach has a rich history; it’s a key location for Spartans of old and a focal point for a new generation,” Head of Creative Joseph Staten concurs.

Following the E3 reveal of Halo: Infinite, expectations are at an all-time high.

Halo: Infinite: what to expect from the first season?

The new multiplayer season for the game will certainly feature loads of content from the popular Halo title. Skins and other cosmetic items based on the older title are expected. But as the new content will feature events, activities, and other content, it’s hard to tell how big an effect the themes the seasons are based on will have on the season. But we do have something to go on with. “Be on the lookout for a special event type with specific thematic rewards called a ‘Fracture’,” Christopher Blohm, the lead progression designer for Halo: Infinite, stated.

Each multiplayer season will last 3 months and is expected to be full of content. Battle Pass, as is the norm in multiplayer these days, will also be available. And rewards are not just event-dependent as players will get to unlock rewards by completing challenges and by performing certain actions in the single-player mode. The Battle Pass, like most games these days, will have a paid version and a free version. Players will get some rewards at the start of each battle pass.
