After almost completing seven years of its life, the Nintendo Switch is still getting a number of prominent games, such as Batman Arkham Trilogy and Red Dead Redemption. It looks like the rumors about its successor are not affecting these developers as much as we would like to think.

One more game is getting added to this list of Nintendo Switch releases, and it’s not your typical run-of-the-mill action-adventure title. It’s a very interesting classic title getting a reboot on Nintendo’s hybrid console.

Haunted House is a series of adventure horror games that began on the Atari 2600 in 1982. The first game in the series was pretty straightforward. Players had to explore twenty-four rooms in order to find three pieces of magic and bring them back to the entrance of the mansion. The twist is that urns change their location randomly in each playthrough, and the mansion is covered in darkness.

This game is not being turned into a roguelite, and let’s be honest, it had the ingredients of a roguelike game. And that roguelike version would be launching on the Nintendo Switch just in time for Halloween. This time around, though, the mansion is not covered in pitch-black darkness but is full of weird things. Moving walls, and a number of weird ghostly creatures.

The roguelite element of this game comes into play when players are defeated and have to try again. They are given the choice of choosing some upgrades, which means that every time they die, they come back stronger and even wiser. It looks like the game already had all the elements of a roguelite; all Atari needed was a little push to take this step.

It looks like the developers were somewhat inspired by Luigi’s Mansion!

While the game is undeniably looking very fun, its art style makes it look like this game’s developers were very inspired by Luigi’s Mansion. And let’s be very clear: it’s not a bad game to be inspired by. Luigi’s Mansion on Nintendo Switch is considered to be one of the best-looking games ever made, all thanks to how flawless this game and its animations look.
