Guinness World Records has sparked another potential YouTube drama. The World Records channel has been a primary source of entertainment for the YouTube audience. Moreover, the channel has inspired a lot of fun content for other popular content creators. The channel’s videos have been the most significant source for reaction-based videos and channels. But it seems like the creators of Guinness World Records have decided to end the pattern. 

A lot of popular names from the YouTube elite creators have used the branding of the Guinness World Records in their journey. Even creators like MrBeast have significantly used the branding of the channel in the early days. However, the latest copyright strikes come as a massive change in the context of the reaction YouTube genre. 

Guinness World Records Channel Has Bad News for Creators

The widely popular channel has an individual fan following of almost around 10 million. Even with such a massive fan following, most of the viewership for the channel comes via third parties and not from its subscribers. A Twitter user broke the most unfortunate news for creators dependent on content from the channel. The user wrote, “Guinness World Records upset YouTubers due to them copyright striking videos using their branding.”

Initially, the creators who received the copyright strike were confused. The creators speculated a confusion around the words, “world record.” Later on, as several YouTube creators got several copyright strikes, the stand became significantly clear.

The decision might be the most troubling for smaller YouTube creators. Plenty of creators on the platform today are highly dependent on the channel for content. Hence, a lot of users on the platform have estimated it to be a loss for both parties. It will be interesting to see if the channel keeps on with the decision or if they will make some changes considering the severe backlash received.
