GTA V Sets an Enviable Sales Milestone That Other Titles Can Only Dream Of

Take Two Interactive just revealed its earning report and all the revenue its various IPs have earned so far. GTA V emerged as the most successful title from the company, being developed under Rockstar Games. Although it’s a nearly eight-year-old game, it’s still ahead of its modern-day rivals.

According to Take Two’s earnings call, Grand Theft Auto has been its most triumphant franchise to date. Moreover, it’s been a highly celebrated, critically acclaimed series as well. When it comes to individual titles, though, GTA V is the best-selling entry. It has gone past $1 billion in sales, faster than any other entertainment launch in history.

GTA V proves why it’s called the best game!

Developed by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto: V released in 2013. It was the seventh major installment in the open world saga, coming after 2008’s GTA 4; and the fifteenth overall entry in the series.

Since its debut, GTA V has become one of the most played and insanely famous games of all time. No matter what new title emerges every year, fans never step away from this video game. The simple reason being that it offers a lot of customizations, being open-world, of course, and also lets them explore the virtual world in an awesome manner.

While revealing its earnings, Take 2 also reflected similar sentiments in the report. Sharing the revenue details for the Grand Theft Auto franchise, it mentioned that GTA V, in particular, is their most successful IP so far.

In case you are curious about numbers, GTA V has sold 160 million copies to-date since the original launch, as of this writing. Plus, it’s also the fastest game ever to reach $1 billion, which is absolutely phenomenal.

Moreover, it was also the best-selling game of the decade in the US, according to the earnings report from Take 2.
