The much-awaited Gamescom 2023 event ended up revealing an action-packed Starfield live-action trailer. Fans were looking forward to a grand presentation, and it didn’t disappoint. However, Opening Night Live had something else as well in store for Bethesda’s space epic.

Out of nowhere, the upcoming and anticipated open-world title got overshadowed by Rockstar’s GTA 6. But there’s a twist to this tale for those who don’t know the entire story. Just when things kicked off in the right tone, with Starfield’s composer Inon Zur, an unexpected situation erupted shortly after his scintillating performance.

Host Geoff Keighley started the high-profile event in the best way possible, with Bethesda’s awaited Xbox exclusive. This time, the game unveiled a new trailer, showcasing its vast world in live-action through the characters and their amazing moments of space exploration.

Unfortunately, though, just when Keighley was about to welcome Todd Howard, the director of Starfield, a person came onto the stage. At first, he seemed like an enthusiastic fan approaching the host to show his excitement about the game. However, he had other intentions – to disturb the flow of the event itself.

As one can clearly see in the live-streamed video above, a man comes up to Geoff while screaming “GTA 6”. But wait, how come Rockstar’s yet-to-be-revealed installment made it to Gamescom? Well, it looks like someone was frustrated with there being no trailer or even a teaser so far. Hence, they decided to bring it to everyone’s attention by simply gatecrashing the event. “Bill Clinton wants to play GTA 6”, shouted the unidentified man.

“This is such a special night for so many developers, it’s really disappointing to see someone act that way”, said the host following this unscripted moment. Obviously, he was not very happy with this incident. “But we’re gonna move on with the show.” However, this is not the first time something like this has happened.

The Game Awards from last year also witnessed a similar incident. Coincidentally, it also involved host Geoff Keighley. The infamous moment occurred when a 15-year-old ‘Bill Clinton kid‘ walked up to the stage and snatched the mic off the winners. He did it right after Elden Ring won the Game of the Year award. The kid went on to say, “I want to thank everybody and say that I think I want to nominate this award to my reformed Orthodox Rabbi Bill Clinton.”

It’s definitely curious that not only is this the second time something like this is happening, but in both cases, Bill Clinton’s name was taken. Obviously, there is no connection. What’s more concerning is, how was anyone allowed to interrupt such prestigious events in such poor taste?

Fans taking to the stage to support their favorite game, not a new phenomenon

Many people may feel this is out of the ordinary. However, on the contrary, this is something that has happened multiple times before. While not much is known about the Gamescom 2023 crasher, his words were familiar to that of Matan Even from 2022. Coincidence? Think not.

The ‘Bill Clinton Kid’, who is apparently a prankster has a history of such theatrics. During a World of WarCraft panel in BlizzCon 2019, he was heard saying, “Free Hong Kong, the revolution of our times.” At a 2019 NBA game, when he was visible to the camera, he displayed a t-shirt that said “Fight for freedom stand with Hong Kong.”
