The Grand Theft Auto series is one of the most renowned and influential gaming franchises in the world. The underworld gangster role-playing game has an enormous impact on contemporary culture. One of the most beloved entries in this series is GTA: San Andreas.

Developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, San Andreas was released back in 2004 and soon became a cultural phenomenon. Following GTA: Vice City, San Andreas was the seventh installment in the overall series. Even though it has been more than a decade since the game was released, its influence can still be felt.

Being such a beloved gaming series, fans have urged for a remaster of the game for a long time. Although Rockstar had released a “Definitive Edition” that included the upscaled versions of the acclaimed Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas, it was nowhere near a next–gen remaster.
