Rockstar Games is a master of open-world game design. They have proven this time and time again with their games. From a school to a complete state, fans have experienced a lot of things in their games and have explored vast open worlds too. Alongside making those open worlds larger with each new game, they have also made them painstakingly good-looking. This is where their proprietary game engine, RAGE, comes into play.

Rockstar has introduced this new engine with Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis and just grew from there. Over the years, it has only evolved, and fans are not ready for what this engine’s GTA 6 version is capable of.

GTA 6’s version of RAGE is going to bring revolutionary innovations to open-world games!

Red Dead Redemption 2 launched back in 2018, and it was lauded for its visual fidelity, its story and music, and pretty much everything. But it importantly changed open-world game design; it gave players beautiful environments and realistic character models. Usually, games find it hard to find a perfect balance between creating good-looking character models and environments.

It appears GTA 6 is going to take this a step further. They have added a bunch of new technologies to this engine.

  1. NPC navigation: This technology would give the game NPCs that would define their own behavior and characteristics. This means players can expect much more realistic behavior from NPCs in GTA 6. Also, they would stop seeing copied characters in open-world games, even though this is hardly a problem in Rockstar’s games.
  2. Ray Tracing: Of course, Rockstar Games is going to introduce Ray Tracing to GTA 6. They even tested it out with current-gen console versions of GTA 5. Even though this one is only for lighting and not reflections, Fans can expect the whole deal from GTA 6.
  3. Realistic water physics: The water physics for GTA 6 would have significant improvements. For one, it is a completely in-house thing designed from the ground up, which means Rockstar Games would have complete control over it. This also means it would truly be something special. Thanks to this new technology, the game might even feature surfing.
