SAG-AFTRA has reached a tentative agreement to end the ongoing strike. But alongside artists from movies and TV shows, people from video game space have also been actively negotiating with the publishers for a new union. Hence, there might be a scenario witnessing voice actors going on a strike. But it seems like GTA 6 will remain unaffected by such circumstances.

In a recent media interaction, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. showed immense confidence regarding the development phase of GTA 6. He made it clear that the project won’t actually have a period of extended delay, no matter what. And he shared a big reason for showing the confidence in the making of the upcoming game.

Here’s why GTA 6 won’t be delayed according to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick

The publisher recently had its Q2 earnings call regarding the growth and future ambitions. The CEO, alongside other execs, talked about how games from Rockstar and other studios have performed recently. It was revealed that GTA V has now sold approximately 190 million units worldwide. Moreover, CEO Strauss Zelnick also touched upon certain points regarding GTA VI as well.

During the Q2 earnings conference call, Mr. Zelnick was asked a question about the possibility of GTA 6 voice actors going on a strike. An analyst from Bank of America, Omar Dessouky, asked him whether the strikes, if they were to happen, would slow down the game’s production or not.

In his response, Strauss Zelnick said that “we are completely protected.” Further, he stated, “We’re optimistic and value all of our talent greatly, and we value excellent labor relations, and we’re looking forward to reaching an agreement that serves everyone well. That’s always been my approach. I’ve been involved with labor negotiations in every entertainment industry there is in my career, and they’ve always worked out just fine,” said the CEO during the earnings call.

Interestingly, though, in September, SAG-AFTRA voted 98% in favor of a video game strike. While there is a tentative agreement to end the ongoing strike, it remains to be seen what happens to the video game industry and how negotiations proceed.

However, going by Zelnick’s statements, there’s no need for fans to panic when it comes to the release schedule of GTA 6. Although it’s not revealed yet, most of the people are expecting it to come out by next year.

GTA 6 announcement attracts millions of views and likes on social media
