

Grand Turismo 7 is being pushed to 2022. Just like God of War: Ragnarok, PlayStation gave no specific release date to Grand Turismo 7 during the PS5 showcases. However, a post showcase official blog post by PlayStation shares a lot of concrete information on the game, including the specific release date of 4 March 2022.
According to the blog post, players will need an active internet connection to enjoy the experience fully. Looks like the game will be quite light if you do not have an online connection. Well, this is not a big surprise as the previous PlayStation 4’s GT sport was also online, so this one was also expected to be online.

Kazunori Yamauchi (head of Grand Turismo 7) said, “GT7 is both the culmination of the series which answers the expectations of GT fans throughout the years and at the same time it is a title that marks a beginning of a difficult mission to contain the full breadth of car culture from the past into a single video game.” He also highlighted the point that fans should expect a full experience from racer just as similar to all the previous games in the series.

Grand Turismo 7 is almost unplayable offline
Looks like upcoming GT7 aims to make all newcomers fall in deep love with the car culture. Many old but loved features are making their return to the game, such as car customization, campaign mode, livery edition, and High-speed ring circuits. The blog post also highlighted the point that every feature and mode requires an active internet connection.
Sounds like Grand Turismo 7 is almost unplayable offline. Players will need an online connection to enjoy the car culture. The game will launch for PlayStation 4 as well, but players have to pay extra for the PlayStation 5 upgrade as per the new rule by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

However, some players are still wondering why they need an internet connection to enjoy any single-player campaign; especially if it operates independently. This is something Polyphony Digital has to discuss with fans before the campaign to clear out everything.
