Rachell Hofstetter, better known to her YouTube audience as ‘Valkyrae’, recently surprised her fans when she announced a break from the platform. The 30-year-old is the most popular female streamer on the platform, and recently celebrated the two-year anniversary of her streaming on the platform. But alongside came the announcement that January 15, 2022, would mark the expiration of her contract with YouTube.

Valkyrae didn’t reveal if she’d be switching platforms once her contract expires, thus leading to a lot of fans speculating about a potential switch to Facebook Gaming or the purple platform, Twitch. However, in an announcement video on YouTube, Rachell has finally revealed her plans for the future.

Valkyrae announces a fresh YouTube contract

In what made for a hilarious reveal, ‘Rae’ has revealed her plans to stick with the red platform. The video is rife with jokes and metaphors for the discourse surrounding her potential move to a new platform. From red and purple spotlights on the wall to the makeup department asking her to choose between a pair of red and purple wigs, the team sure had a blast taking digs at the recent trend in streamer signing videos and the fan theories.

Fans were excited to see Joe Bereta of former Smosh fame to be part of the announcement video. Joe is currently an Executive Producer at 100 Thieves, a lifestyle brand and gaming organization co-owned by Valkyrae.

In the video, Valkyrae is seen entering a commercial set. Rae goes through a routine of gags before finally sitting down, and as the Director comes over with different ideas, she simply replies:

“It’s okay, I’m just staying on YouTube.”

Fans are ecstatic to see the “Queen of YouTube” return to the platform. She has announced that she’ll be staying on the platform for two more years. Since starting YouTube back in 2020, Valkyrae has garnered a tremendous audience on the platform.

Not only does she have over 3.6 million subscribers, but also averages 18,000 viewers per stream.

YouTube’s streaming division has also been expanding constantly, and the folks there seem pleased with the return.

Rae SLAMS Facebook Gaming

The video pulled no punches. Rae even slams down a blue-colored coffee mug, alluding to Facebook Gaming, and their recent inroad into streaming. This must have come as a shock to Mizkif. On a live stream with the American streamer, Rae had sparked rumors about a potential shift to Facebook’s streaming division. Mizkif himself bought into the hype, as he even congratulated her on the decision.

But Valkyrae seems to have gotten a laugh out of the whole thing, with her even stating:
