It all ends today. No more everyday logins for anyone, as xCloud launches for Windows 10 PCs, phones, and tablets. Microsoft announced that Xbox Cloud Gaming will now be available for Insiders via the Xbox App. It offers gamers a choice of playing either on their consoles or PCs by downloading or from the cloud on a device of their liking. You can try out all the new games in Game Pass Library on any device first before downloading it on your consoles.

xCloud: What it means for PC gamers

In an earlier announcement, Microsoft revealed that Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) will only be available for Windows 10 PCs & Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. These members must from one of the 22 countries that are part of the Insider program.

Even though it is available for all Insiders, users will have to sign up for Windows Gaming preview in the Xbox Insider Hub app. The cloud games will then be available under the Xbox app’s Game Pass tab.

With xCloud, Microsoft aims to bridge the gap between the preceding PC variant and the Xbox console experience. This would end the hassle of logging in to the Xbox website to play a few games on your device. Gamers will now have access to the entire Xbox Game Pass Ultimate library. The platform will also provide cross-progression and cross-platform in your devices. You will be able to continue a saved game from your console on your PC & play with your friends who are yet to download the game and/or are on a different platform.

To get going with the new xCloud, you will need a compatible controller; either Xbox or Microsoft. Users will have to launch the Xbox app using the “cloud games” button and they will be ready to grind out a new game. Additionally, they have added a few other features that make our lives easier: easy-to-access information on the controller and network status, social features to stay connected with friends.
