The throwing knife is one of the many throwables you can equip in the game. It has been a part of Call of Duty for a long time now, and using it usually means hitting your target with precision, until the melee glitch started.

This glitch saw people use the throwing knife in a different manner. Instead of aiming at their enemies and then throwing, players began using it as a way of melee fighting. Ordinarily, it requires several melee hits to down a fully armored opponent. With this glitch, it only took one.

The patch was a big source of relief for most CoD fans since the bug had been ruining the gameplay experience for them.

Fans rejoice as the bug gets a fix

As soon as the blog post about the patch had the bug fix listed, fans knew they were in for a treat. Players could not figure out what hit them, especially since all they could see was a player meleeing them and killing them in one hit.

It was almost reminiscent of the knife loadout from old Modern Warfare games. Back in the day, a lot of players had dedicated melee loadouts. Just as it was back then, it induced a lot of rage among players, as one enemy ran around meleeing players all over the map.

While some fans rejoiced at the prospect of the bug fix coming, others were skeptical. They felt in fixing the initial bug, Call of Duty would likely have created several glitches in its place. It comes from a place of mistrust as fans feel every week they face a new bug that ruins gameplay.

Another fan simply showed how bad the situation was. As seen in the video, the player has full armor but gets instantly downed because of the knife melee glitch. In a tight game of Warzone, something like this can mean the difference between winning and losing.
