Legendary action-adventure franchise, God of War has made it to PS5 and originally saw its birth in PS2. The multi-generational title continues to record mammoth sales across all 4 consoles. Undoubtedly it is one the most important games for PlayStation and its second saga is coming to a close.

Kratos’s adventure beyond the Greek pantheon in 2018 was a massive hit with the fans. Ever since then, gamers have been eagerly waiting for a follow-up game, but it might take a while according to the developers.

In the latest Twitter post, God of War’s director, Cory Barlog provided a much-needed update about Ragnarok. On the occasion of God of War’s 4th anniversary, he thanked the community for their continued support and love. Barlog stated that none of this would have been possible without the fans and he appreciates them dearly.

Cory Barlog also touched upon the important part and shed light on the production process of Ragnarok. The final iteration of the franchise is still a long way out from its release and the team is still working around the clock on the project. Barlog also promised that the Santa Monica studio is leaving no stones unturned in this project and aiming for perfection.

He said, “Speaking of God of War Ragnarok, we haven’t said a lot about this because everybody is head down hard at work. We are perfectionists, everyone is tightening up the graphics on level 3, there is so much going on right now that I just wish we could share some with you right now but it is just not ready to be shopped.”

Barlog added, “But I guarantee you the moment, the very second that we have something that we are ready to share, we are gonna share it with you. Because we don’t want to hold any of this back, so please hold tight. You know that something cool is coming.”

This crucial entails one bitter truth that fans would not really like to gulp down. The title is indeed going to come out, but it seems highly unlikely that it will meet the 2022 deadline. It looks like gamers will have to wait for another year to see Kratos go toe-to-toe against God of Thunder. Thor and the All-Father Odin.
