The iconic streamer and internet personality, Dr Disrespect, expressed his shock on social media as his preferred FPS game didn’t manage to excel as he was anticipating. In the most prestigious awards show in the gaming industry, a Nintendo Switch exclusive surpassed Call of Duty.
In the streaming circle, Herschel Beahm IV aka Dr Disrespect, is an icon. He is known for his unique character, attitude, and love-hate relationship with Call of Duty. He religiously disses Activision’s Call of Duty games in his streams. But deep down, he also cares for them, as he expressed his frustration on social media when MW2 failed to lift an award in The Game Awards 2022.

Dr Disrespect in disbelief after Call of Duty lost to a Nintendo Exclusive
The Game Awards 2022, held on December 8, 2022, was arguably one of the most important events for the gaming industry this year. Many amazing spectacles sparked the night bright. From great new announcements to amazing games honored with awards, and appearances by some of the biggest stars of Hollywood to a controversial end, the event had it all.
But the show left a bitter taste for many, including the massive streamer, Dr Disrespect. This year the “Best Multiplayer Game” category nominees were:-
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
- MultiVersus
- Overwatch 2
- Splatoon 3
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
No matter how much he denies it, clearly, Doc rooted for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Because when the game lost to Nintendo’s hit multiplayer sensation Splatoon 3, Doc posted this tweet from his official Twitter account.

But realizing his bias, Doc agreed on giving Splatoon 3 a chance. He added in the reply, “Playing this game next week. Give it some respect…” The Two-Time teased that in his next stream in the upcoming week, he will be playing the Nintendo game to try to give it some respect and see if it is actually worthy of the awards.
Fans give their explanation to the situation by citing different examples and reasons
The fans went all out on making Doc understand how great the Splatoon series is. Some fans compared Call of Duty and Splatoon to McDonald’s and Classy Italian restaurants. According to them, one has brand recognition, and it tastes good, but compared to the other, the difference in quality is heaven and earth.
but Splatoon is one of their back burner game’s developed by B-Team.
The fact that one of Nintendo’s smallest franchises won against (arguably) THE BIGGEST video game franchise says a lot.— dj💛 (@Oldsulx) December 10, 2022
That 'biggest video game franchise' happened to churn out the biggest shits.
That's like comparing McDonalds to a local Italian restuarant. McDonalds is tasty, no doubt, but is it 'quality'?— tritonus (@Tritonus_69) December 10, 2022
Super smoothie gameplay, excellent community, developer support, constantly updating the game, keeping it fresh and new extremely balanced. So yeah, it lost to the better game.

After setting up my pc and playing MW2 as well as the other competitive shooters at the moment. Splatoon 3 blows all of them out of the water. Deep mechanics and customization, smooth gameplay, high skill ceiling, and once you commit to motion controls the game opens up more.

Splatoon 3 is about to get some love from the Two Time. I CAN FEEL IT. Get your vaseline ready because the back to back Champ is about to DOMINATE this game.
