Ghostrunner 2 Announced For Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC

505 Games has announced today that Ghosrunner will get a sequel. The 2020 game will be followed by Ghostrunner 2 and it will release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Ghostrunner released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch only. Ghostrunner 2 will therefore take the benefit of new age consoles. Better visuals and imaging in cyberpunk games is always a welcome sign.

The first title successfully sold 600,00 copies across all the platforms it released. This will help the release of the sequel, providing it a solid player base to cater to. Furthermore, developers at One More Level are going to design this sequel. However, there is no news on the release date of this game. Since the announcement has happened, we can guess that the game is well into development and we might get a beta date sometime later this year. Apparently, the studio is sparing no cost in the development of this sequel, with the budget being double of the first one.

“In wake of the continuous success and most recent acquisition of the video game’s intellectual property (IP), the Group doubles its investment for the creation of Ghostrunner 2, contributing to the initial budget of Euro 5 million.”

The same announcement also mentioned that Ghostrunner will come on new-gen consoles by the end of the year.

Ghostrunner studio on the success and beyond

There were words from inside the studio about the influence in the Polish video game market.

We will continue to pay close attention to the Polish market to constantly improve and expand our product portfolio with video games capable of satisfying the tastes of the entire gaming community.”

One More Level is also a Polish organisation. Besides Ghostrunner they have also delivered God’s Trigger and Warlock vs Shadows. Raffaele Galante, co-CEO of Digital Bros, commented on this collaboartion.

“We are particularly excited about the future release of Ghostrunner 2. Together with One More Level, we have created a thrilling and engaging video game.”

Ghostrunner is available on Xbox store for $29.99, and also on PS4 and Switch. There are also some DLC content available that are worth a look.
