After the official cancellation of the Electronic Entertainment Expo aka E3 for the third time in four years, renowned gaming host and journalist Geoff Keighley announced the return of Summer Game Fest. According to the hype, it seems, the fest could be the substitute for the E3.
First held back in 2020, the Summer Game Fest is an online gaming event that showcases some of the biggest upcoming titles in the gaming world. Back during the pandemic era, when everyone was forced to stay inside their houses, this digital event helped Gamers all around the world get up to date with all the latest releases.
Will Summer Game Fest become the next E3?

The Summer Game Fest 2023 will go live on June 8, 2023. The event will be broadcasted online at 3:00 pm ET/12:00 pm PT on the given date. Other than being broadcasted online, the show will also be shown in front of a live audience. There has been a lot of hype surrounding the event, as people expect it to be the next E3.

After the E3 is officially canceled for this year, many big studios and game developers have been flocking into the Summer Game Fest. There have been some speculations that expect the Fest to give some exclusive title reveals and developer updates. The Show will be held at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles.
The official online broadcast will be posted on the YouTube channel of Summer Game Fest. Apart from the YouTube showcase, the event will also be available on the IMAX Live events, in select theaters in the US and Canada. The tickets could be booked on the official IMAX Live Events website.
Many major studios, such as Ubisoft and Devolver Digital, have already confirmed their spot in the event. The highly anticipated Ubisoft Forward will be part of the Summer Fest. Many believe the official announcements regarding the future of the Assassins’ Creed franchise will be revealed in the Forward.

However, other Major Developer release events, such as Capcom Spotlight and Square Enix Presents, haven’t announced their association with the event yet. The gaming community so far is very hopeful toward the Fest, believing it to be the perfect contender to fill the hole left by E3’s departure.
