Genshin Impact launched for Windows, PlayStation 4, Windows, iOS, and Android in 2020. Ever since its launch, this game has become a synonym for gacha. Genshin Impact was a game unlike any other on mobile phones and people were loving it. It became so popular that by March 2022, it managed to earn a revenue of over $4 Billion.

It being a gacha also means that it keeps on evolving. Constant updates, new storylines, and new characters are a regular thing and developer miHoYo has been pretty generous with these updates. A big part of these updates is the addition of rated characters. And if players are to be believed, a few new 4-star characters that miHoYo have released are way weaker than the previous bunch.

New 4-star characters not meeting the old ones’ mark

Characters like Dori and Collei are examples of such 4-star characters that hardly bring anything special to the game. Some say the reason is that one of those characters is basically more focused on exploration and miHoYo has been doing this a lot lately. Releasing case-specific characters to the game that are mostly useless in most scenarios but one.

Now fans are just saying that this can be due to a number of reasons. Either these characters are given away free as a reward for completing a quest or are just planning to improve later. Even though one of these answers might be true, some just refuse to use them. According to some fans, if there’s a better character in the same class and better abilities are available, why waste time with these?

This makes sense too as Genshin impact never had this problem with 4-star characters before. People who have been playing the game since its inception claim that previously 4-star characters used to be far far better.

miHoYo keeps improving Genshin Impact

Now we cannot comment on what exactly miHoYo’s plans are with these characters. But we know one thing for sure, Genshin Impact is still as popular as ever and it is not showing any signs of slowing down either.

miHoYo releases new characters every now and then to much fanfare and if there’s a problem with 4-star characters, we are sure miHoYo has something going on in regard to them. We just have to wait and watch.
