New free weapons in Genshin Impact
miHoYo’s new offer allows players to claim three free weapons in Dragonspine after completing certain quests. Naturally, players are excited to try out these weapons considering the great stats they provide. Moreover, these weapons are craft able within the game, which attracts a lot of free to play players’ attention.
However, players should be careful before enhancing these weapons so they don’t make the wrong call.
Snow-Tombed Starsilver Claymore
Players can get their hands on the new claymore released in Dragonspine by solving a puzzle. The puzzle requires players to light up every tablet in the region, thereby opening up a secret door where the claymore resides. Adventurers can become the proud owner of the sword after completing the puzzle.

However, players can’t just blindly equip this weapon on any claymore user, specially Chongyun. The weapon provides a tremendous bonus on physical attack, but his elemental skill basically changes all physical attacks into Cryo. As a result, players can miss a lot of physical attack bonus if it’s equipped on Chongyun.
The weapon, however, is a perfect fit for physical damage dealers like Razor and Xinyan. This claymore can significantly enhance Xinyan both as a Main DPS or SUB DPS as it provides a massive boost on her base attack.
Dragonspine Spear Polearm in Genshin Impact
The Dragonspine Spear is a new weapon that players can claim by completing the world’s quest, The Festering Fang. It currently fulfils the purpose of a Main DPS mainly because of its physical damage bonus. As a result, it looks like developers designed the weapon, keeping future characters in mind.
Unless miHoYo introduces a polearm user like Xinyan who can unleash elemental damage with her burst or skill in the future, this weapon may not be a favorable choice yet. The best weapon for current polearm characters would be Crescent Pike.
Frostbearer Catalyst
Unlike the other two weapons, players can’t claim the Frostbearer Catalyst by solving a puzzle or completing a world quest. In order to get this weapon, players have to level up their Frostbearing tree to level 10. It provides ATK % from its sub stat and can generate icicle that deals pretty decent damage.

Moreover, the icicle damage has the potential to deal greater damage once Cryo affects the target. This weapon is a more viable option to anyone who does not have any four-star catalyst weapon.
