However, recent news has confirmed that PlayStation and other gaming giants have set their eyes on Threads, a new development by Meta.

Created under the banner of Instagram, Threads is speculated to become a strong competitor for Twitter. This new development by Meta is initially designed as a text-oriented social media platform. Apart from texts, rumors suggested that users can also share images and videos with their circle.

After Threads‘ appearance on the market, many giant gaming organizations seemed to follow its band. Sources suggest that although PlayStation’s Thread currently looks empty, community managers are definitely looking into the platform’s potential

Following PlayStation, companies like Ubisoft, Capcom, and SEGA also seem to move their interests to this new platform by Meta. We can definitely see Threads becoming a point of attention for the gaming giants. Meta head Zuckerberg has confirmed that approximately ten million people have already joined Threads.

Threads is definitely trying to establish itself as a primary rival to Elon Musk’s Twitter. Many renowned streamers seemed pretty pissed with Musk’s new campaign on Twitter regarding limited viewerships. Subscription policies for blue tick verification also indicate Twitter’s policy focusing on simple money-making. In this scenario, Threads’ appearance can be seen as an alternative for people to move out from Twitter.

Threads is the new Twitter?

Meta announced their project on Threads quite some time ago. The Barcelona project confirmed Meta’s intention to bring something similar to Twitter. However, people believe that Thread’s success depends on its policies compared to Twitter’s.

Following Elon Musk’s new banter regarding Twitter policies, many find Threads a better and more equipped platform. Although Threads’ potential is speculated to be great, Twitter currently has 400 million users compared to Instagram’s 1 million. PlayStation and Ubisoft’s green signal to Threads’ potential can help in its future marketing ventures.
