The FTC vs Microsoft case result has brought $69 billion reasons for the Xbox makers to celebrate. As their deal with Activision Blizzard goes through in the US, they have started to gain an advantage from it. Recently, they leveraged the results to alter their 10-year deal with Sony over Call of Duty. And with such a strong grab over the market by the Xbox makers, many fans have started to speculate about their next move.
Some fans believe Microsoft will first and foremost strengthen its pre-released titles from the workforce joining alongside Activision. Recently in the Iron Lords podcast, industry insider Destin Legarie gave his tinfoil hat theory on Microsoft’s next move. He declared Microsoft is going to acquire Take-Two next. He carried on by stating that a lot of paperwork trail points in this direction. However, he could not confirm the deal with conviction. Legarie concluded his thoughts with, “Who knows who is going to come back to the table now that this whole thing is cleared? Now that they know Microsoft is here to play, I think Sony is going to get some of them and Xbox is going to get some of them.”

His views were taken as a hot take at first by the panel itself. But his reasonings over this matter have led to some of the fans and experts believing him. However, Rockstar Games expert Ben (@videotechx) has denied the claims of Legarie. He said, “This won’t happen. Not in a million years.” Ben argued that if a Microsoft-Take Two transaction is ever proposed it will be immediately blocked by FTC and CMA.

Furthermore, Take Two recently acquired Zynga, a mobile game company. Having it alongside King, which also makes mobile games, will be counter-productive for Xbox. With this expert opinion, multiple fans are calling Legarie’s opinion a shot in the dark.
